Peter Makes a Point I Need to Be Reminded of

Heavenly Father, I praise You for allowing Your Holy Spirit to inspire the people who wrote the Bible, copied it precisely, and passed it down through the generations. I praise You for still inspiring people to write books that teach, instruct, and help live righteously.

Holy Spirit, You inspired Peter to write, and I ask that You remind me of how, when angels sinned, those of Noah’s time sinned, Sodom and Gomorrah sinned, that You still saw, heard, and saved the righteous from their destruction. Noah, Lott, and Abraham are men of faith that we should heed, not because they were perfect, for none of them were, but yet, they were saved and even prospered because of their faith, hope, and perseverance. Help me to live my life so that You still hear me, see me, and know my heart so that I can have the hope of eternity continuously beating in my heart.

The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11
