Heavenly Father as I examine the lives of the twelve You chose to walk with Jesus as His disciples and inner circle I learn that I don’t have to be something extraordinary for You to use in extraordinary ways. I praise You for the record of each of these testimonies and that our history and tradition tells us how each of them died, all being martyred except John. None of them except Judas who betrayed Christ forsake Christ at the end before they were put to death. I pray my faith and hope is that strong.
Holy Spirit Jesus told Nathanael that he was an honest Israelite and told him He saw him sitting under a fig tree. [John 1:47,48] It is something for You to say someone is honest when You know our thoughts, desires, motives and most of all our heart. I seek to be this honest that You would say the same of me.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Amen. [Romans 15:13]
