Not letting Depressing Days Defeat Me

Heavenly Father, I give You honor, praise, and glory for being my God who saves, loves, and desires me. I give You praise for my salvation, my creation, and my purpose in life. I praise You for the wonders and miracles that surround me and amaze me each day in life. I give You praise just because I know this lifts who I am. Help me to take command of my day and shake the evil and doubts from my day.

Holy Spirit, as I think about days that I feel defeated, depressed, or just apathetic, I have to remind myself to see life as Paul did, when from prison he wrote to the Galatians: I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I know lives in my body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. [Galatians 2:20] I am no longer alone, I am no longer a loser because I have eternal life, I have purpose, I have a God who desires me, to know me, and use me and share life with me. I am no longer tied down by the destruction of sin, darkness, and the forces of hell to destroy me. I am a child of the King and the God of the world. I need to remember this, cherish this, and be bold in my faith because of this. May the God of hope fill me with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit I may abound in hope. Amen. [Romans 15:13]
