My Name Means more than People Think

Heavenly Father, I praise You for Your forgiveness and mercy towards me. I praise You for desiring a relationship with me and that Your Holy Spirit resides within me. Help me to be the living Temple You desire I be. Help me to take command of my morning so I can shake all the evil from it and live righteously today.

Your word says, “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor rather than silver and gold. The rich and the poor have this in common: the Lord is the Maker of them all. A prudent man foresees the evil and hides himself, but the simple pass on and are punished. By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life.” [Proverbs 22:1-4] The most important thing about my name is that it is written in the Book of Life so that I know I will be a resident in heaven when I leave this earth. My name and reputation are only as good as my character and my ability to serve God with all my heart, mind, and soul. Help me to continuously examine myself so that I walk with integrity and keep my name good before God.

And this is my prayer: let my love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Amen. Philippians 1:9-11
