Heavenly Father, I come before You today and give You honor and praise. I praise You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins and offer salvation. I praise You for sending the Holy Spirit to live within me as the residence of Your Spirit within this living temple You have created. I praise You for the hope that fuels my faith that this is no longer my permanent home or destiny. Help me today to take command of my day, renew my mind, and live as a living sacrifice, so that I can shake off the evil and expose it for what it is, and move towards living a righteous life.
Holy Spirit, help me to keep reminding myself as I face trials, tribulations, and just mundane day to day living that my hope rests on what the Hebrew writer told us: So Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for Him for salvation. Also, what the Psalmist wrote: Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. So, I will remember to do as
Paul wrote to the Philippians: I press on toward the goal for the prize of God in Christ Jesus. And I will trust in Your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in Your salvation. [Hebrews 9:28; Psalm 23:4; Philippians 3:14; Psalm 13:5]
2Thessalonians 2:16,17—Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good deed and word.
Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. But I understand the Lord is faithful, He will establish me and guard me from the evil one. And I have confidence in the Lord, I will do the things He has commanded me. Now may the Lord direct my heart into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. Amen [2 Thessalonians 3:5; 2 Thess. 3:3-5]
