My Country Good and Bad

Heavenly Father, I praise You for the country I live in. I praise You for men of their time who tried to serve You the best they could. They proved that no man is perfect and that we live in a sinful world. Fortunately, through the years we have been able to correct some of the evils of sin like slavery and to some extent racism. We still make mistakes like taking prayer out of school. By trying to say that not letting government control our religion means that we can’t have God in our government which was never the intent of the creators of the constitution. Again, we have allowed the father of lies to take a half truth and push it to its limits to remove God from our country. I praise You that no matter how hard man or Satan tries to remove You, You exist despite us.

Holy Spirit, to cut down on our unrighteousness, help us to adhere to the words from Hebrews, “Endure discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons (and daughters0. For what son (or daughter) is there whom a father does not discipline? If you are without discipline, of which everyone has partaken, then you are illegitimate children and not sons (or daughters). Furthermore, we have had human fathers, and they corrected us, and we gave them reverence. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of Spirits and live? For they indeed disciplined us for a short time according to their own judgment, but He does so for our profit, that we may partake of His holiness. Now no discipline seems to be joyful at the time, but grievous. Yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness in those who have been trained by it. Therefore, lift up your tired hands, and strengthen your weak knees. Make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame go out of joint, but rather be healed. Pursue peace with all men, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord, watching diligently so that no one falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness spring up to cause trouble, and many become defiled by it.”

Holy Spirit help us a nation to repent for our sins and rebellion against Your word and righteousness. Help us to learn to live together in a Unity that exemplifies You. Help us to seek true justice not man’s justice. Help us to get back on our knees and pray with humility and not demand anything for we deserve nothing. Help us to follow Christ’s words and love one another and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Help us to regain the hope of Your salvation and learn humility instead of pride that demands everything for our selfishness.

Change your life, not just your clothes. Come back to God, your God. And here’s why: God is kind and merciful. He takes a deep breath, puts up with a lot, this most patient God, extravagant in love, always ready to cancel catastrophe. Who knows? Maybe he’ll do it now; maybe he’ll turn around and show pity. Maybe, when all’s said and done, there’ll be blessings full and robust for your God! “When you call on Me, when you come and pray to Me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God’s Decree. Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. I wait patiently and quietly for You, My Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ and Your return, Amen!
