Heavenly Father I praise You for helping Kayla who have been praying for and helping her get better health. I also praise You for not having to do chemo at this time. I praise You that I will only have to be monitored for the next four years.
Holy Spirit help me to set my affections on things above, not on things on earth. For I am dead and my life is hidden with Christ in God. When You, Christ, appear I shall appear with You in glory. Help me to put to death the parts of my earthly nature: sexual immorality, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because these things, the wrath of God comes on the sons and daughters of disobedience. I know that I once walked in these, before I asked Christ into my life. I also understand I need to put away these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy language out of my mouth. Holy Spirit help me to continue to work on these areas of my life. Help me not to lie since I am now a child of truth through Christ which has made me a new creature and an adopted son. Holy Spirit help me learn to embrace, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, a spirit of mercy, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, and longsuffering. Help me to put up with others and learn to forgive as Christ has forgiven me. Most of all help me to embrace love, which is the bond of perfection. [Col. 3:1-14]
Holy Spirit help me to desire what Christ desires and help me to lose my desires that do not align with His. Help me to die daily to myself and to be a living sacrifice for God. Help me to continually work on renewing my mind so that I am in harmony with God’s will for my life. Teach me to step back and listen to the Holy Spirit before speaking or acting foolishly. Help me to improve on being a good husband, father, and grandfather. Help me to demonstrate love even when it is not my first instinct. Help me to bring into captivity all my thoughts and to serve You and not be selfish in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
