Learning to Listen to the Counsler

Heavenly Father I praise You for creating us with a plan and that Your word is true and reliable. I praise You for giving us a life that is always moving forward and that we should live this way. I realize that I am but a stone that is thrown into the water of life and I am but a single ripple that moves out to affect the world around me. I praise You for teaching me such things.

Holy Spirit, Your word says, “I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another Counselor, that He may be with you forever: the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, for it does not see Him, neither does it know Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you fatherless. I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see Me no more. But you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.” “But when the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His authority. But He will speak whatever He hears, and He will tell you things that are to come.” [John 14:16-20; John 16:13] Help me to hear through my thoughts, my spirit, and Your word. Help me to not only listen but to respond and act upon what I am told. Lead me to learn and understand Your voice so that I can daily grow and do the purpose I was created for. Help me to have a discerning spirit so that I can pick up on the cues from Your Spirit.

Holy Spirit I also ask during this time of the year that You would take John and Amanda and their family under Your wing as they are facing trials of sickness from Covid & infections and it has caused them to be in desperate need of simple things like water, toilet paper, and food. Their well has stopped and they are in great need. I ask that You bring a miracle into their life and help them have their needs met.

Let me continually offer the sacrifice of praise to You, oh God, that is, the fruit of my lips, giving thanks to Your name. Help me to not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices You are well pleased. I will do my best to obey those who rule over me and be submissive for they watch out for my soul, and they will give account for how they lead. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for me. For I am confident that I have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially am urged to do this. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make me complete in every good work to do His will, working in me what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
