Knowing The Other Side of the Coin

Heavenly Father, I praise You for our ability to think, ponder, and grow in life. I praise You for making us unique and desirable to You. I praise You for the gift of salvation, the mercy and grace for forgiveness of our sins, and the relationship we can have with Your Holy Spirit. As I claim the scripture that says: Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the

Day approaching. [Hebrews 10:19-25] Help me to take command of my morning and shake all the evil from it.

Holy Spirit, in the letter that James, the half-brother of Christ, sent to the church, he talks about not taking for granted that our plans will just happen, but instead takes the perspective of, “If God wills for this, it will happen this way”. Help me not to become so focused on my perspective of what is just in front of me, not to realize that at any time God may have a change of plans, and I will be obedient to that. What also catches me in this part of the letter [chapter 4] is that James says, “to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin,” How often have I only viewed sin in what I did wrong instead of what I failed to do that was right and I knew it was the right thing to do but didn’t. Help me to listen to Your promptings and step up and do the right thing when I am aware of it, so that I continue to strive to be righteous instead of continuing to give in to sin.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Amen. [Romans 15:13]
