Key to Getting to Heaven

Heavenly Father I praise You for being our Creator, I praise Jesus for being our Savior and the Holy Spirit for being our truth and Comforter. I praise You for wanting a relationship with us and creating us with a purpose and with gifts and when we gain salvation, a ministry or ministries.

Holy Spirit I understand and stand on the principle that forgiveness is how we get salvation and that leads us to being a child of Yours. Your word says: “Jesus replied to them, ‘Have faith in God. Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, everything you pray and ask for—believe that you have received it and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you your wrongdoing.” [Mark 11:22-25] It also says: “Then Peter approached Him and asked, ‘Lord, how many times must I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? As many as seven times?’ ‘I tell you, not as many as seven,’ Jesus replied, ‘but seventy times seven.” [Matthew 18:21&22]

Even when You tried to give us an example how to pray You put in that we needed to forgive, and when Christ died on the cross He said, “Father forgive them for they do not know what they do.” Forgiveness is the key to opening, keeping and growing a relationship, especially with You. If I learn to forgive then I am not letting anything interfere with that relationship. Help me to continually learn to trust in You and to forgive. Let me learn to love at any cost. I understand this does not mean I go and place my self to continually be assaulted or hurt but to forgive so that I am not bound by bitterness, anger and hate. I will trust in You to avenge what needs to be avenged and to judge what needs to be judged.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)
