I Work For the Lord

Heavenly Father I praise You for allowing me to work for the past 35 years nonstop. I praise You for all the years I was able to work in the factory with other believers who helped save bottles to return and buy Bibles for our plant. I praise You for all the friends I have made over the years working both at Durakon Industries and now for the State of Michigan Corrections. I praise You for allowing me to be a volunteer Youth worker for 14 years and being able to coach basketball for 8 years for two different schools. I praise You for using me in many different ways and capacities. For allowing me to fill in for pastors, lead a Youth Camp, go on Mission trips as a chaperone, to pray for pastors, to be able to play and sing in different worship teams. I praise You for giving me many different ways to serve.

Holy Spirit I will work heartily for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord I will receive the reward of inheritance. For I serve You. I also understand that those who do wrong will receive for the wrong which they do and that God shows no partiality. [Colossians 3:23-25] I live each day as a living sacrifice for You as my worship to You and I always seek Your will daily and seek to renew my mind, body, spirit and soul so that I centered in Your presence. I purpose to serve You until the time I go to my home. I ask that You walk beside me, guide me, give me strength when I am weak, and wisdom when I talk to others so that I demonstrate Your love.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Holy Spirit help us to bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another. Teach us to forgive as the Lord forgave us. And over all these virtues help us to put on love which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, since as members of one body we are called to peace. Let us be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in our hearts to God. And whatever we do, whether in word or deed, help us to do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Amen. Colossians 3:12-17
