I Want to Be Seeking Through Prayer & Fasting for Jesus' Return as did Simeon & Anna #10

Character Series of Prayers

Heavenly Father, I praise You for allowing us to know the testimony of the witnesses of the life of Christ here on the earth. I praise You for demonstrating to us what it was like to witness Christ in the flesh and how the world still did not see or believe. I praise You for allowing me to know You, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. For creating me, giving me purpose, allowing me the opportunity to choose to accept the gift of salvation, and for teaching me to walk in wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment. For loving me enough to forgive my sins and call me son.

Holy Spirit, I desire to have the perseverance to continue to watch for and long for the return of Christ. I also understand I may see Christ through death first. I desire to have that faithfulness and hope that Simeon and Anna did, which is explained to us in Luke when Christ was brought to the temple after 8 days, that these two recognized and knew through their spirit that the Messiah had come to dwell

among men. Simeon said, “Lord, now let Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation which You have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel. They would then witness to all who would listen of Christ who now dwelt among the people. They had prayed and fasted for years for this one-time event. You have blessed me to live life as a living temple where Your Holy Spirit can reside to talk to me daily. Help me to still yearn for the day I see You face to face.

Praise be to You, God, and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed me in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For You chose me before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in Your sight. In love, You predestined me to be adopted as Your son through Jesus, in accordance with His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which he has freely given me in the One He loves. In You, I have redemption through the blood of Christ, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of Your grace that You

lavished on me with all wisdom and understanding. And You are making known to me the mystery of Your will according to Your good pleasure, which You purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In You I was also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of God who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, so that I, who has the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. And I was included in Christ when I heard the word of truth, the gospel of my salvation. Having believed, I am marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing my inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Amen. Ephesians 1:3-14
