Heavenly Father I praise You for seeking a relationship with Your creation. I praise You for Your word and for it being true. I praise You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to leave heaven, become human, live among us, and then die for our sins, and rise again with our hope for eternal life. I praise You for sending the Holy Spirit to us to walk with us, live within us, talk to us, inspire us, warn us, and speak through us.
Holy Spirit many of the words written in the Bible point to us seeking You with all our hearts, minds, and souls. I seek to know You with all that I am. I continue to stumble in life when I let my desires, thoughts get in the way. I humble myself before the throne of God and Jesus through Your Spirit. I know that without You I am nothing. With You, I can accomplish what I was made for and live with hope within me that there is more to life than what is before my eyes. Help me to continue to grow in wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment. Help me to learn wisdom as Daniel did. Help me to gain knowledge as Isaiah and Samuel did. Help me to use understanding as Joseph and Nehemiah did. Help me to be as discerning as Gideon, Caleb, Peter, and Paul were. Let me learn from how they all lived their lives to understand what You expect from me in seeking to serve You. I know my life will be different and be in a different generation, but I also know that the honesty, humility, and focus they all demonstrated is still what I must do to gain what I truly desire: to know You more.
Holy Spirit I am thankful for my upbringing and how it has opened my mind to who You are and exposed me early to Your word. Help me to open these doors for others. Help my prayers to always be sincere, humble, and honoring to You. I do not write my prayers to impress anyone. I write to teach you how to draw closer to You. I write for it helps me to focus my prayers and tell You the desires of my heart. As I have walked this journey of being a Watchman on the Wall for my community and for my workplace, I have learned to love, understand, follow, and know You more. My one desire I want to present to You is that I can teach others to know You more, pray more, and grow in their faith.
Praise be to You, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed me in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose me in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined me to be adopted as his son through Jesus, in accordance with His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which he has freely given me in the One he loves. In Him I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on me with all wisdom and understanding. And He made known to me the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In Him I was also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, so that I, who has the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. And I also was included in Christ when I heard the word of truth, the gospel of my salvation. Having believed, I am marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing my inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
