Heavenly Father, I give You praise and Glory for You are the only God, and the God who listens and cares. You are the one true God who created the universe, the earth, and all living creatures. You fill our world with wonder and mystery that no matter how far man comes, it will never fully understand or appreciate the creation that You brought into existence. Help me today to take command of my day and shake all the evil from it.
For this reason, I do not lose heart: Even though my physical body is slowly falling apart and dying, my inward spirit and soul are being renewed day by day. Though I face affliction, which lasts for only a day or two, I understand it works for me a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while I do not look at the things that are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. [2 Corinthians 4:16-18] Help my spiritual eyes to continue to see, get stronger, and assist in my belief and hope of eternity. Let me rest upon the rock of my salvation and hope that builds the foundation to my faith to trust and obey Christ and the word of God. I need to not only be a living temple where I lay down my life as a living sacrifice daily for God, but to be the light with my fellow Christ followers that the world can see and find direction, just as Captains of ships did and do with the stars in the sky on very dark nights. Help me to renew my mind with the wisdom of Your word, of fellow believers, and with the assistance of the Holy Spirit to teach and guide me as I walk and apply this wisdom.
But the Lord is faithful, who will establish me and guard me from the evil one. And I have confidence in the Lord, both that I do and will do the things He commands of me. Now may the Lord direct my heart into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. And may the Lord of peace himself give me peace at all times and in every way. The Lord will be with me always. Amen [2 Thess. 3:3-5 and verse 16]
