How Big My God Is

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen (Matthew 6:9-13)

Holy Spirit, help me continue to have faith and hope, as those who lived before me did. Let my God be as powerful as Caleb and Joshua believed, as mysterious as Moses and Aaron learned. Help me to have wisdom and understanding of God and my faith as Daniel, David, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did. Help me to find You faithful and a friend like Enoch. Help me to learn from Your Spirit and trust in what You tell me, as Paul, Peter, and the rest of the disciples. Help me to believe so strongly in who You are that I can testify even if it means my death, like Stephen. Help me to listen, watch, and pray as Simeon and Anna, who waited in the temple for the Messiah to be born, recognized Jesus for who He was. Help me to hear and obey, as Samuel and all the other prophets did. Help me to learn to be loyal to Your Spirit as Jonathan was to David, fulfilling Your will. Let me come to understand Christ’s words: Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” [Matthew 19:26] Help me to believe what You told Jeremiah: “This is God’s message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as God: ‘Call to me, and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’” [Jeremiah 33:2&3, the Message] Let me do all this while I am working out my salvation with Your Holy Spirit. Let me believe the wonder, witness the miracle, and stand strong on my hope and faith in who You are, and who You are to me.

I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You from those who rise against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings. (Amen) (Psalms 17:6-8)
