Heavenly FatherI praise You for being a forgiving and loving God. I praise You for Your mercy and grace. I praise You for the example Christ set for us while living here on the earth as a man. I praise You for all the examples in the Bible of how we should live, even though many are contrary to what the world teaches. Help me to take command of my day, harness and focus my thoughts, so that I can shake the evil from it. I ask that You put a hedge of protection around my wife, son, his fiancée, my daughter, and my grandchildren.
Holy Spirit, Your word says: Bear with one another and forgive one another. If anyone has a quarrel against anyone, even as Christ forgave you, so you must do. The discretion of a man defers his anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense. There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that a man
should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord…Let him give his cheek to the one who strikes, and let him be filled with insults. [Colossians 3:13; Proverbs 19:11; Romans 8:1; Lamentations 3:25-26 &30, MEV] Holy Spirit, it is not in my nature to just stand and let the world attack me without pushing back. Teach me to desire and live peace, to focus on my salvation and the forgiveness You have shown me so that I can do the same towards others, for I should know and understand: For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. We live by faith, not by sight. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. [1 Corinthians 1:18; 2 Corinthians 4:17&18; 2 Corinthians 5:7; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5]
Praise be to the God and Father of my Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts me in all my troubles, so that I can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort I myself have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into my life, so also through Christ my comfort overflows. If I am distressed, it is for my comfort and salvation; if I am comforted, it will produce in me patient endurance of the same sufferings other Christians have suffered. Grace and peace will come to me from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for my sins to rescue me from the present evil age, according to the will of my God and Father, to whom be the glory for ever and ever. [2Corinthians 1:3-7; Galatians 1:3-5]
