Help Me to be an Encourager Like Barnabas

Heavenly Father I praise You for today and for helping me live life as You created me to live. I praise You for giving me enough wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment that I can navigate my path without stumbling, but not so much that I might become proud. I praise You for all the people You have placed in my life to assist me in doing what I am supposed to do, and for those who encourage me so that I do not become depressed, apathetic, or intimidated. Help me take command of my day and shake the evil from it, so that I may be honoring to You.

Your word says, “Anxiety in the heart of man weighs it down, but a good word cheers it up.” [Proverbs 12:25] The whole reason, as I understand it, that the first churches in Acts were started was to teach, learn, and encourage one another. Help me to do my part and encourage all that I come in contact with, to give praise and see Your hand in their life. Let me be faithful to build others up, who knows, I may help the next Paul take off in his ministry.

But my Lord is faithful; He will establish me and guard me from the evil one. And those who have authority over me have confidence in the Lord concerning me, both that I do and will do the things they command of me because of what the Holy Spirit leads them to command me. Now may the Lord direct my heart into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. Amen. [2 Thess. 3:3-5]
