A Mystery with Hope Tied to It

Heavenly Father, I praise You today for Your word and for the comfort it brings me. I praise You that You instilled in us the desire to know You and for hope to be such a powerful force. I praise You for the Holy Spirit prodding us, speaking for us, giving us wisdom, and indwelling within us to help us be Holy. Let Your Spirit guide me today to take command of my day and shake the evil from it.

Paul was inspired to write: Since we are encompassed with such a great cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. [Hebrews 12:1, MEV] Holy Spirit, I don’t have enough information to fully appreciate who is in my great cloud of witnesses. I would like to think it is the generations of family who have gone before me and know You and are in heaven. I want to believe the babies I lost, and my son Philip, are part of that too. I also believe all the people who invested in my life, living or already in heaven, are part of that group of witnesses. This gives me hope and encouragement to keep pushing forward and live as Christ desires me to live, even when times are dark, I am facing depression, or start to feel apathetic, I think and meditate on this verse and envision people cheering and praying over me. I know Christ prays over me because it is in Your word.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain! Help me run my race strong. In Jesus’ name, amen. 1Chronicles 4:9&10
