Drinking My Spiritual Coffee

Heavenly Father I praise You for being my king, creator, and friend. I praise You for Your word, which because of the truth of the inspired testimonies, helps me gain wisdom in how You desire me to live. I praise You for the wisdom You gave Job to take command of my morning through my faith in You. Let this morning see me be a blessing not a curse to those around me. Let this morning witness my desire and consistency to talk to You, be led by You, and be inspired by You. Let this morning be one where I witness Your wonders, mercy, grace, healing, and majesty.

Holy Spirit Your word says, “To be carnally minded is death, but spiritually minded is life and peace.” [Romans 8:6] I desire and want to be spiritually minded. I want to live as Paul was inspired to write: “in view of God’s mercy, I will offer my body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is my spiritual act of worship. I will not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of my mind. Then I will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will. For I say, through the grace given to me, I will not think of myself more highly than I ought to think, but to think with sound judgment, according to the measure of faith God has distributed to every man. For just as we have many parts in one body, and not all parts have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and all are parts of one another. We have diverse gifts according to the grace that is given to us; if prophecy, according to the proportion of faith; if service, in serving; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with generosity; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.” [Romans 12:1-8]

Help me to not be double-minded, focus on what is true, and let the words I speak bring life and purpose and be acceptable to You so that I am a true representative of Christ and tell of the good news. Let me be a person of the way, one who models Christ as best as I can. Let me stand as an adopted heir to Your kingdom. Help me to remember that only through faith and Your power do miracles and mountains move. I can do nothing without You in my life, leading my life and walking with me daily.

I pray and ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of You, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified me to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the light. You have delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. You are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by You, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through You for You. And You are before all things, and in You, all things exist. And You are the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things You may have the preeminence. In Your blessed Son Jesus’ name, Amen. (Colossians 1:9-18)
