Built to Run

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. [2Corinthians 1:3-7]

Holy Spirit, Your word says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. [Psalm 127:1] Let this temple that has Your Spirit within be a house that is built by Your wisdom, crafted with knowledge, and utilizes understanding and discernment to be a temple that shines Your light, in humility, to allow Your Spirit to speak to those who will listen to build Your kingdom. Your divine power has given to me all things that pertain to life and

godliness through the knowledge I have of You, who has called me by Your glory and excellence. And I am encompassed with such a great cloud of witnesses, help me to set aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles me, and run with endurance the race that is set before me. [2 Peter 1:3; Hebrews 12:1]

Let me continually offer the sacrifice of praise to You, oh God, that is, the fruit of my lips, giving thanks to Your name. Help me not to forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices You are well pleased. I will do my best to obey those who rule over me, and be submissive, for they watch out for my soul, and they will give account for how they lead. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for me. For I am confident that I have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially am urged to do this. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make me complete in every good work to do His will, working in me what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
