Building a Foundation on Hope

Heavenly Father I praise You for Your patience as I learn to have a faith built on the hope that is within me. I praise You for seeing my heart and my thoughts so You understand why I say or do things that I do and not just pounce on my misuse of words or failure to act properly in a given situation. I praise You for having mercy, grace and love for me.

Now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You. My soul longs for Your deliverance, but I hope in Your word. I have set You always before me; because You are at my right hand, I will not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also will rest in security. Since I have been justified by faith, I have peace with You, O God, through Jesus Christ., through whom I have access by faith into this grace in which I stand, and so I rejoice in hope of Your glory. I also boast in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces patience, patience produces character, and character produces hope. And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God is shed abroad into my heart by the Holy Spirit that is within me. Seeing then that I have such hope I can speak with great boldness. [Psa. 39:7; 119:81; 16:8&9; Rom. 5:1-5; 2 Cor. 3:12]

Holy Spirit let my hope be strong enough to build my faith in what and why I pray. Help me to have faith bigger than a mustard seed because I want to see great things done in Your name and with Your power. I know that without You I am nothing but with You and the hope I have in You I can accomplish much more for Your kingdom. Help me to not only build upon my hope and faith but to encourage others to walk with me and build their hope and faith also. Let me become the encourager that helps others see what faith can do when we are so grounded in our hope in You.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given to me all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of God who has called me to His own glory and excellence, by which He has given to me exceedingly great and precious promises, so that through these things I might become a partaker of the divine nature and escape the corruption that is in the world through lust. For this reason help me to make every effort to add virtue to my faith; and to my virtue, knowledge, and to my knowledge, self-control; and to my self-control, patient endurance; and to my patient endurance, godliness; and to my godliness, brotherly kindness; and to my brotherly kindness love. For if all of these reside in me and abound, they will ensure that I will neither be useless nor unfruitful in the knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord. Help me to diligently make my calling and election sure so that when I add all of these areas into my life I will not stumble and will be able to enter into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which will be abundantly provided for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 2 Peter 1:3-11 MEV version
