Heavenly Father I praise You for loving me even on days when I am grouchy or distressed, or even angry. I praise You that You accept all of me and help me to move towards being like Your Son every day. I praise You for believing in me even when I don’t believe in me.
Holy Spirit I know that Christ is sitting on His throne right now interceding for me and others. I also know that He tells You things to bring to my attention daily. I also know from Your word that I am not perfect but that I was made in Your image and that You understand that as Your creation I have emotions, desires and needs. I also know that while Christ lived here on the earth he faced many if not all the trials and temptations that we face and yet he did not sin. I also know that while He lived here he was constantly praying to the Father. He set the bar high for us to live up to and many times I fall short. I try to pray over things first before attempting them or before I make decisions but I am not always patient enough to listen to Your answer.
Holy Spirit help me to be better about using my emotions to motivate me to serve God instead of my own desires. Help me that when I am frustrated, angry or in despair I will turn to prayer to reset my attitude, give over my misguided idea of control and let go of desires that could or will bring harm to my life. Let me constantly put my thoughts under Your control and die out to myself and live as a living sacrifice for You. Holy Spirit help me to open my heart and allow God to search me daily and if any wicked or sinful things is there allow Him to remove it so that I can fully enjoy my time with You.
The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11
