Be Still and Breathe

Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. For the Lord Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth. He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, His holy mountain. Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth. [Psalm 47:1-3; 48:1-2]

Holy Spirit you say, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. Even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.” (Psa.46:10;139:12) Let me learn to sit in Your glory as I do when I hunt deer sitting, quietly, observing all the beauty of nature around me, listening to the wind, trees and all the animals make noise. Let me take in all that You have done for me, let me see all the beauty around me, for it is easy to get caught up in all the ugly, dark, sin of this world and be discouraged. Help me to feel Your presence as the warmth of a sunrise warms my skin, let Your presence warm my heart.

Holy Spirit help me to breathe in Your word and breathe out Your Spirit onto those around me. Let me absorb, understand, discern and break down Your word so that I know You in all Your glory. Let me see with my heart, know with my spirit, taste with my longing, and drink in Your living water so that I am satisfied and not desiring what is wrong and short-lived that this world seems to continually offer. Teach me to be a living sacrifice, walk with intention, speak with wisdom, focus on what is before me with the understanding You walk beside me, and listen to hear all that You have for my ears to hear.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think according to the power that works in us. Now all glory to God, who is able through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. To him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. [Ephesians 3:20-21, NIV, the Message, NKJV, NLT]
