Baring My Soul Before God

Heavenly Father, I come before You a broken man, and I give You praise for who You are and all You have done. I praise You for the gift of salvation and for loving me even when I am far from lovable. I praise You for Your word and the wisdom it offers. I praise You for the spiritual mentors You have placed in my life through the years.

Holy Spirit, I find myself at a crossroad that I am conflicted about how to proceed. Last night in Bible Study, we were challenged that if we were able to sit in a room with You and speak audibly back and forth, what would we ask You. Well, here are my questions, which I know You know, for they trouble my heart. 1. Was Philip’s death an accident or suicide? 2. How am I to be complete when my son no longer follows You? 3. Do I need to find a new place to worship where I believe in the leadership, their motives, and how I feel about some key people in our church who have driven parts of my family farther from coming to church? 4. How do I properly talk and be honest with my daughter and my son about what I see that they should be doing instead of what they are doing? 5. How do I fight the thoughts that I am just done with everything and I have no longer any joy? 6. How am I to serve when I am broken and have so much anger in my life? 7. How do I navigate living around family that I have forgiven but no longer trust or want anything to do with their way of thinking?

Holy Spirit, these are what plague my heart daily and go with the life I am living each day and where I work, live, and try to just feel again. I give this to You, and though I don’t “feel” it, I put my trust in You that eventually You will show me the way I am to walk. Amen.
