Are You Ready?

Heavenly Father I praise You that this is not my permanent home, that one day I will live with You in heaven.  I praise You for offering the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and that You help us to continue an ongoing relationship with the Holy Spirit dwelling and speaking in us, through us, for us and over us.  I praise You that this very broken world will one day stop and be no more. That eternity awaits all who accept Your salvation and live by faith.  I praise You that my name is written in the Book of Life because of the price paid at the cross and the hope raised upon the resurrection of Christ three days later.

Holy Spirit help us heed the warnings of Malachi when he wrote, “Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another. The Lord listened and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name. They shall be Mine, says the Lord of Hosts, on the day when I make up My jewels. And I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Then you will again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him. Surely the day is coming, burning like an oven; all the proud, yes, all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming will burn them up, says the Lord of Hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. You will go out and grow up like calves from the stall. And you will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your fee, on the day when I do this, says the Lord of Hosts.” [Malachi 3:16-18 & 4:1-3]

The end of all things is near.  Therefore, be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.  Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.  If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.  To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever.  Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11
