Am I Intentional in What I Pray

Heavenly Father, I praise You for today and that You listen when I pray. I praise You for knowing my heart and the intent of what I say and do. I praise You for allowing me to have the gift of salvation and to be a follower of Jesus with a purpose to help build Your kingdom here on the earth.

Holy Spirit, whether I use scriptures or just plainly say what I am thinking, search my heart and know that I truly seek the ear of God and desire not only audience but the true desire of the petition I present. I seek You to move on my family and bring salvation to all of them. I seek to see my church grow and become a mighty force in building Your kingdom in our community. On personal levels, I seek to be healed of my A1C situation and to lose weight to be healthy. I seek wisdom to lead in my position. I seek for You to assist my wife and to reduce her stress while strengthening her as a leader in her position. I seek for You to let the college loan be removed, as we have been led to believe that it would.

Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because You are faithful and righteous. Don’t put your servant on trial, for no one is innocent before you. My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave. I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear. I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done. I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for as parched a land thirsts for rain. Come quickly, Lord, and answer me, for my depression deepens. Don’t turn away from me, or I will die. Let me hear of Your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting You. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to You. Rescue me from my enemies, Lord; I run to you to hide me. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. May Your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing. For the glory of Your name, O Lord, preserve my life. Because of Your faithfulness, bring me out of this distress. In Your unfailing love, silence all my enemies and destroy all my foes, for I am Your servant. Amen. [Psalm 143, NLT]
