Heavenly Father, I praise You for the seasons of life as well as the seasons of weather. I praise You for teaching me to be still and know You are God. I praise You for all You have done for me, even when I try to take over at times. Help me to be an umbrella for my family and to continue praying for their salvation, blessings, and protection. Help me to take command of my days and shake all the evil from them while I wear my armor to ward off the attacks of the enemy.
I pray that my love may abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that I may approve excellent things, so that I may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ. [Philippians 1:9-10, MEV] Each day that I wake up and open myself to Your Spirit, I desire and seek wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and discernment to make it through my day. I pray and seek to do Your will, transform my mind, and be in control of what I see, think, and speak. I do my best to live peaceably with all people and not hurt others or cause them pain if I can. I realize that in this sinful world I will offend others because of what I believe and stand for and that I am okay with, but I also know I have to be discerning in how I talk, act and do in front of others so that I don’t create unnecessary pain, hurt or bitterness. Help me to know when and what to say and how I say it to others. Let Your Spirit be so strong within me that I do not speak out of turn or without truly evaluating the weight of what I am saying and what it will do to others. I seek to win people to Christ, not chase them away.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Holy Spirit, help us to bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another. Teach us to forgive as the Lord forgave us. And over all these virtues help us to put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, since as members of one body we are called to peace. Let us be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in our hearts to God. And whatever we do, whether in word or deed, help us to do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Amen. Colossians 3:12-17
