What Kind of Strength Do I Need

Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Remember the word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. Plead my cause and redeem me; Revive me according to Your Word. Give me understanding according to Your word. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning—yes, more than those who watch for the morning. I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. [Psalms 119:35; Psalms 119:49; Psalms 119:154; Psalms 119:169; Psalms 130:5&6; Isaiah 61:10]

Holy Spirit I pray Your words back to You to claim the promises and actions that are in them so that I can live as You desire, I live and as You created me to be: You, Oh Lord will give strength to Your people and will bless them with peace. O Lord, be gracious to me, I have waited for You. Be my strength every morning, my salvation also in the time of trouble. You, O Lord God my strength; You will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and You will make me walk on my high places. For this reason, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would give me, according to the riches of His glory, power to be strengthened by His Spirit in the inner man, and that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith; that I, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that I may be filled with all the fulness of God. [Deuteronomy 33:25; Psalms 29:11; Habakkuk 3:19; Isaiah 33:2; Ephesians 3:14-19]

I seek my strength each morning and I ground it in the hope of my salvation and the hope of reaching heaven. I build my strength by being a living sacrifice daily for God to use as He deems and allowing me to know His will so I can fulfill it. I also build my strength from renewing my mind with Your word, Your promptings from the Holy Spirit, and from true worship that focuses all of my heart and attention on the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment of Your word and its instruction on how to live a righteous life. I claim no perfection, I only claim to be daily striving forward towards the perfection of Christ.

I thank my God always concerning the grace of God which was given to me by Christ Jesus, that I am enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in me, so that I come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm me to the end, that I may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom I am called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. [1Corinthians 1:4-9]
