What is Wisdom?

“You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You have created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.” The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One, who will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will renew you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. But none of these things deter me. Nor do I count my life of value to myself, so that I may joyfully finish my course and the ministry which I have received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble by the comfort with which we are comforted by God. Holy Spirit Your word says: If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. To know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity; to give subtlety to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion—a wise man will hear and will increase learning and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, to understand a proverb and the interpretation, the words of the wise and their riddles. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. [James 1:5; Proverbs 1:1-7] I have learned through the direction of Your Spirit that wisdom, which comes from God is of the Spirit. I have also learned that my first step to gaining wisdom is to first acknowledge what Isaiah learned: For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. [Isaiah 55:8&9] That You, O Lord, are to be revered, feared, sought after, and given the rightful place as the King of my life. I have also learned that I must ask for Your Holy Spirit to lead me in obtaining wisdom by gaining knowledge to give me a base and then develop understanding which is to put that knowledge into action. I must learn to surrender my control of my life and open myself up to a full cleansing of Your Spirit. I need to fully grasp the gift of salvation and understand that accepting that salvation has now made me a living temple for Your Spirit to dwell within me and give me instruction. I will no longer listen to the foolishness of this world’s sinful advice, but renew my mind with what God has planned for me, created me for, and given direction through Your word, and inspiration when You speak to me. I will die out to myself, daily, hourly, even every minute to be the living sacrifice that can be used to build and move Your kingdom forward in people’s hearts. I will learn to desire what You desire, love the way You love, and forgive, even unto death if it is expected of me.

For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen me with power through His Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within me, to Him be glory, Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
