What are You Asking For

Heavenly Father I praise You for the milestones that You help us achieve in life. I praise You for helping us through storms and tests that come our way. Your word says that it will rain on the just as well as the unjust. We live in a broken sinful world. Some things that happen will happen whether we are serving God or not. We will face troubles, even Christ told us that. Heavenly Father I praise You for sending Your son to redeem us and for the Holy Spirit to walk with us.

Jesus told us, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” [Matt.7:7&8] Holy Spirit teach me to ask for what is in Your will for my life so that I receive beneficial things that will help me to serve You better. Help me to seek Your will always so that I know without a doubt I am within Your will of who I am supposed to be. Let me knock on the doors that I need opened not doors I desire opened. This way I will only enter into the places that will help me to glorify who You are.

Let me fully immerse myself into Romans 12:1&2—in view of God’s mercy, I need to offer my body as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is my spiritual act of worship. I will not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of my mind. Then I will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will. Let me be able to renew my mind through Your word, prayer, testifying, demonstrating with my actions Your love, truth, and applying Your principles to my life. Help me to also realize and apply: 2 Corinthians 10:3-5—For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. I need to adhere to this in my life so as James tells us I do not do, curse or treat poorly all people who are made in Your image.

Guide me to practice, apply and do Your word which is slowly being written on my heart and mind. Help me to learn to fully live You in my life. Amen.
