Waiting

Heavenly Father I am learning to wait on Your timing.  I am learning to wait on You. I am learning to wait for my time to finally go home.  I praise You in the morning, I praise You in the noon time, and I will praise You in the evening.  I praise You for the good and bad of life and I realize how unworthy I am to be called Your adopted son.

Holy Spirit help me to learn the wisdom of Isaiah 40:29—He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Isaiah 40:31—But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 49:16—I see, You have inscribed my name on the palms of Your hands. Holy Spirit help me to listen to You as You say in Isaiah 55:10&11(The Message)—Just as the rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth, Doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed.  They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.

Holy Spirit help me as I wait, as I wait for my test results and what the oncologist has to say, what You will do to help us roof our house.  Help me to wait patiently as You give me new insight to write prayers to help people.  Help me as I wait for my last book to come out soon.  Help me as I struggle to comprehend enough to live each day after losing my youngest son.  Help me to walk patiently each day as I struggle with frustration with my job and my life.  Help me to see people all around me as Your creation and not my enemy.  Help me to give up my desires and start to desire what You desire.  Help me to wait for Your timing and Your will to be given to me and the direction of my next step.  Help me to listen and not talk when in Your presence.  Help me to daily enter Your throne room, kneel down on my knees and offer my life to You for whatever challenge I am to face.  Help me to petition for those who are in need and to wage war with the only weapon I possess, prayer.  Help me to continue to learn from Your word which is the breath of life for my soul.  Help me to never be ashamed of the gospel or to take a stand for my faith no matter the cost but help me to be wise and not cause confrontations when there is no need.  Help me to demonstrate Christ like love in all situations but to also show Christ like strength when that is called upon.  Now direct my heart into Your  love and into the patience of Christ my risen Savior.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
