I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. So many enemies against one man—all of them trying to kill me. To them, I’m just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence. They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts. Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. [Psalm 62:1-7]
Holy Spirit Your word tells me: “…walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” “Do not be drunk with wine, for that is reckless living. But be filled with the Spirit.” [Galatians 5:16; Ephesians 5:18] Help me to offer myself daily as a sacrifice to God, renew my mind on things that will profit me in Your Kingdom not this world, and to be filled and walk in Your Spirit all day so that I know all of who I am is focused on You that way I do not have time for temptation, sin, or losing to my flesh. I have been trained since I was a child to focus on what is important so that I am not easily distracted by foolishness. Help me to demonstrate this in my everyday living as an adopted child of Yours.
I thank my God always concerning the grace of God which was given to me by Christ Jesus, that I am enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in me, so that I come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm me to the end, that I may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom I am called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. [1Corinthians 1:4-9]
