Simple is Sometimes the Best

Our Father, which are in heaven, You are worthy of our praise. Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord from the heavens; Praise in the heights! Praise Him all His Angels; Praise Him, all His hosts! Let them praise the name of the Lord. For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven. The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy. [Psalms 148:1&2; Psalms 148:13; Psalm 147:11]

Holy Spirit Your word says, if I draw near to You, You will draw near to me. [James 4:18] Each day I come before You and offer myself as a living sacrifice so that I can learn Your will and become closer to You. I do all that I can to keep my mind focused on listening to Your voice, studying Your word, worshipping You, growing from authors who write on Your wisdom and how to live within Your principles, and being accountable to the people You place in my life to keep me accountable.

Holy Spirit Your word also says: By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things visible. Without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew or Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard through the word of Christ. [Hebrews 11:3; Hebrews 11:6; Romans 10:9-13; Romans 10:17]

The simplicity of all this is, I must believe, I must trust, I must live a life of obedience and honor to You and I must follow Your principles if I want to know You better and grow in my faith. My life, my growth, and my relationship are dependent on my listening, responding, and living life the way You created me to live. Help me to learn to walk how, where, and when You desire me to walk. Let me reflect on Your love for others and grow in my faith by trusting You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
