Seeking Direction

Heavenly Father, I praise You today for being a God who is involved in our lives. I praise You for using the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment so that we can be aware of Your will and the way we are to walk each day. Help me today to learn as you taught Job to take command of my morning and shake all the evil from it.

Holy Spirit, the Bible says: Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline and do not resent His rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. [Proverbs 3:3-12] Let my trust and faith in You be from the very depths of who I am and fully invested in You. Help me to learn from the wisdom of ministers like Max Lucado when they teach: “Faith is not the belief that God will do what you want. It is the belief that God will do what is right.” Or Alistair Begg, who said, “Prayer is an acknowledgment that our need of God’s help is not partial but total.” Let me be in the presence of You through prayer as much as I can daily. Help me to see with eyes that forgive, discern, and seek to build Christ’s kingdom here on the earth as it is in heaven. Let me learn as a living sacrifice, Your will for me today, and to be a doer of Your word and revelation to my heart and mind. Give me direction to go along with my hope and faith so that I do not feel adrift in a world that is dark, sinful, and in despair. Help me to not allow apathy, depression, or bitterness creep into who I am so that I can be ready to always give an answer to the hope that is within me.

I pray and ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of the You, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified me to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the light. You have delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. You are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by You all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through You for You. And You are before all things, and in You all things exist. And You are the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things You may have the

preeminence. In Your blessed Son Jesus’ name, Amen. (Colossians 1:9-18)
