Seeking and Accepting Salvation

Praise be to You, God, and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed me in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose me in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined me to be adopted as his son through Jesus, in accordance with His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which he has freely given me in the One he loves. In Him I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on me with all wisdom and understanding. And He made known to me the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In Him I was also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, so that I, who has the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. And I also was included in Christ when I heard the word of truth, the gospel of my salvation. Having believed, I am marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing my inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. [Ephesians 1:3-14]

Holy Spirit Your word says: If I declare with my mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved. For it is with my heart that I believe and I am justified, and it is with my mouth that I profess my faith and I am saved. As scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew or Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” [Romans 10:9-13] Your word also says: “Without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” [Hebrew 11:6] I come humbly to You God, ask that You adopt me as Your child, I believe You exist, that You are my creator and savior. I believe You allowed Christ to die on the cross for my sin and then rose again three days later to defeat death and open eternity to all who will trust and follow You. It is through faith that I give You my life and live this day forward as a living sacrifice for You so that I can know, understand, and act upon Your will for my life while I am here on this earth. As Paul said to Timothy a long time ago, I know whom I believe in and who I trust in that He will guard my soul and protect my trust until I see Him in glory. Help me to walk with faith daily so that I can shine like the stars as Your adopted child. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
