Scripture Prayer from Philippians

Chapter 2

Heavenly Father, I give You praise today for Your word, Your gift of salvation, and Your faith in me to serve You with all that I am. For creating in me a purpose and abilities to fulfill that purpose, and the trust that I will grow in faith to discern from Your Spirit on how to fulfill my purpose. Help me to take command of my day and shake the evil from it.

Holy Spirit, help me to be unified with my brothers and sisters in praying and serving You daily. Help me to live a life where I am not causing anyone in my Christ-following family strife or demonstrating conceit, but rather learning and exhibiting humility, seeing all of Your creation through Your eyes, not my biased, sinful, prideful way. Help me to see the desires and needs of others and not be so consumed by my own personal life that I can’t pray and assist others. Help me to follow the advice of Paul and work daily on my salvation to have You constantly on the throne of my heart and in me a living temple belonging and representing You. My daily desire is to do Your will and Your good pleasure.

I understand I live in a world that is crooked and perverse, so let me be like the stars in the sky at night and be one of many that shines Your light for this dark world to see hope, direction, and a pathway to You.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Holy Spirit, help us to bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another. Teach us to forgive as the Lord forgave us. And over all these virtues help us to put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, since as members of one body we are called to peace. Let us be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in our hearts to God. And whatever we do, whether in word or deed, help us to do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Amen. Colossians 3:12-17
