In the morning, O Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation. But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them that those who love Your name may rejoice in You. For surely, O Lord, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield. O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants, You have ordained strength because of Your enemies, to silence the enemy and the avenger. When I consider Your heavens, the works of Your fingers, the moon, and the stars, which You have established, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You attend to him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatever travels the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth! [Psalms 5:3,11&12; Psalm 8, MEV translation]
Holy Spirit Your word says: “If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, and if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall rise in obscurity, and your darkness shall become as the noonday. And the Lord shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.” And though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, Yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore. But your eyes shall see your teachers. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it.” [Isaiah 58:9b-11; Isaiah 30:20&21]
The Holy Spirit guides me continually and satisfies my soul. Speak to me and tell me where and how I should walk. I desire to live a life as Paul describes as a living sacrifice daily for You so that I can know and do Your will. Help me to renew my mind daily so that my thoughts are the thoughts that You desire for me to know and dwell upon. Let my heart, mind, spirit, and soul meditate on Your word, Your wisdom, Your principles, and Your desires for me.
Let me continually offer the sacrifice of praise to You, oh God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to Your name. Help me to not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices You are well pleased. I will do my best to obey those who rule over me and be submissive for they watch out for my soul, and they will give account for how they lead. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for me. For I am confident that I have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially am urged to do this. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make me complete in every good work to do His will, working in me what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
