Praying for Double Blessings

Heavenly Father I praise You for the morning, afternoon, and night. I praise You for Your word and for the wisdom and truth it gives us. I praise You for the testimonies of the people who had lived and learned to have faith in You. I praise You for not hiding your faults or weaknesses so that we can understand and see the struggle.

Holy Spirit in Your word we learned that just before Elijah left this earth, he asked Elisha what he could give him. Elisha asked for a double portion of his spirit so that he could carry on the ministry of a profit. I believe if we are faithful and honor God and ask for, He will also grant our request for a double portion. So, as I live my life to honor You, O Lord, I ask for a double portion of Daniel’s spirit of wisdom and discernment. I ask for a double portion of Nehemiah’s spirit on how to appeal, construct and lead with courage and boldness. I ask for a double portion of Caleb’s spirit to be able to stand alone if needed to claim Your promises and the promise land. I ask for a double portion of Peter’s spirit to be willing to step out of the boat and walk towards You no matter the conditions. I pray for a double portion of Paul’s spirit to humbly stand before all people knowing how wretched of a sinner I once was but now I am free because of salvation and I am able to proclaim the hope that is within me. I ask for a double portion of Deborah’s spirit so I may judge what is right and wrong to live openly and honestly before all people. I ask for a double portion of Lydia’s spirit so that I may be industrious enough to be able to help fund ministries. I also ask for a double portion of both Mordecai and Esther’s spirit to be able to stand and serve in a hostile environment and country.

I will not let anyone lead me astray. I will do what is right so I can be righteous, just as He is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. Let me not love in word or tongue, but in deed and in truth. And by this, I will know that I am of the truth, and shall assure my heart before Him. If my heart does not condemn me, I have confidence before God and receive from him anything I ask because I obey his commands and do what pleases him. And so I know and rely on the love God has for me. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. On these truths I will stand and lay my claim as an adopted child of God through the salvation of Jesus Christ offered to m through His death on the cross and His resurrection from the grave. Let me stand humbly, but courageously for You, my God, and my Savior. Amen, Amen. [1 John 3:7-10; 1 John 3:18&19; 1 John 3:21-22; 1 John 4:16-18]
