Personable God

Heavenly Father, I praise You for creating me and making me with a purpose and abilities for this time. I praise You for Your word, which continues to feed my desire to learn and grow in wisdom. I praise You for being a God who desires a relationship and seeks to spend time with me daily. Help me today to take command of my day and shake all evil from it.

Holy Spirit, Your word says—In the days of His flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to Him, who was able to save Him from death. He was heard because of His godly fear. Though He was a Son, He learned obedience through the things that He suffered, and being made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him. [Hebrews 5:7-9] As I learn to live in Christ and to emulate Christ as a true believer and follower, I am amazed at the example left by Him to us. He prayed and offered supplications even to the point of tears to You, so that He could stay in obedience and be filled with the Holy Spirit to know and do Your will. I

should not do anything less. These examples are not difficult to follow. I should be willing to take time to pray daily, offer supplications even to the point of tears from being humbled by salvation, and stay in obedience because of all I have learned from the trials and storms of life I have faced. Help me with guidance from Your Spirit to grow and become as Christlike as You need or desire me to be.

Jesus, You told us all when You were here on the earth the following: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. And I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” [John 14:12-14; John 14:16-17 NKJV] With these promises, I step forward and seek wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment so that I can fully accomplish all that You told me I could achieve for You and Your kingdom here on the earth. In Your name, Jesus, I bow in humility through prayer, to be obedient and willing to fulfill the words You spoke so many years ago. Amen.
