Heavenly Father, I praise You for today and for giving us the ability to think, ponder, and comprehend. I praise You for instilling within us the passion and drive to achieve and to learn to put that into the correct perspective. Today, Help me take command of my morning and shake all the evil from it.
Holy Spirit, when I take a moment to measure my life and where I would like it to be or achieve, I always think of two different parts of scripture. The first: “By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, ‘and was not found, because God had taken him’; for before he was taken, he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” [Hebrews 11:5] And the second: But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring him into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it. [Numbers 14:24] I want to walk so close to God that I just walk off with God and I am no longer here. Also, I desire to be known for having a different spirit within me to the point I am following God fully. I desire to fulfill what
Christ said of His followers in the future: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. [John 14:12-14] Help me to do greater works because of being faithful and obedient. Help me to have a different Spirit that does not bend to public opinion or pressure. Help me to walk so close to You that I come close to just walking off with You.
And this is my prayer: let my love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
