Loving My Neighbor Trumps

Almost Everything

Heavenly Father I praise You for the lessons we learn from the different writers You inspired to write Your words and thoughts so that we could gain wisdom and direction in life. I praise You for the truth, for truth is stronger than sin or the wisdom of this broken world. I praise You for being the calm in my storm when life is raging all around me. I praise You for the peace and hope in my heart and the joy I have of knowing this is not my home.

Holy Spirit help me to follow the advice and wisdom of Paul when he wrote, “Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not give false testimony, You shall not covet,’ and if there are any other commandments, are summed up in this saying, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love works no evil to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” Help me to continually learn this lesson until it is fully ingrained into my life. I freely admit I have not always been a loving person. I need to be more worried about Your reputation than my rights or my pride. I need to demonstrate love not just use words. Romans 13:8-12

Holy Spirit help me to fulfill this idea of loving all that are around me considering my neighbor is more than just those who live on my road. I praise You for the neighbors I have who have been good and kind to my family and I. Help me to show love through how I treat others, how I help others, how I support my church, community, missionaries and how I speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves. Teach me to show grace and mercy as You have done for me.

And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as I do to you, so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints. I constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. I pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen. [1 Thessalonians 3:11-13; 2Thessalonians 1:11&12]
