Heavenly Father, I praise You today for how You have watched over my family. I praise You for the blessings that have been handed down to my family by You. From my grandfather who served You as a Pastor, to my Father who served as a pastor and school board member, to my brother who currently is a pastor to my son who is a Youth Leader both at our church and for the Youth for Christ in Millington and Vassar. Help me today to take command of my day and shake all the evil from it. Put a hedge of protection around my family and allow my family to continue to serve so that Your blessing can continue to move through my family.
Holy Spirit, I come before You and ask for Your touch for a woman in my church who recently became a widow. She will be moving away from our church to live with her sister, who also is a widow. I ask that You give her comfort and new life as she starts a new adventure and will meet new people. Help her through the grieving process, but help her to hold onto her hope and her faith. Help her to find joy and peace. Help me to listen and share the burdens of my
community and to be a person who prays for the saints as Paul instructed us to do. Let me always be compassionate and demonstrate grace, mercy, and Your love to others. Guide my steps and help me to hold onto my hope even after so badly shaken when I found Philip dead. Let me live and enjoy the family I still have. Help me to drink deeply of the water of life that You offer and to grow strong once more in my faith.
The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless, we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in
peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation…but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. But, beloved, remember the words that were previously spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last days there will be scoffers who will walk after their ungodly desires.” These are the men who cause divisions, sensual, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith. Pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God while you are waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, which leads to eternal life. On some, have compassion, using discernment. And others save with fear while pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with rejoicing, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. [2 Peter 3:10-15&18;Jude 17-24 (MEV)
