O Lord, I will honor and praise Your name, for You are my God. You do such wonderful things! You planned them long ago, and now You have accomplished them. You turn mighty cities into heaps of ruins. Cities with strong walls are turned to rubble. Beautiful palaces in distant lands disappear and will never be rebuilt. Therefore strong nations will declare Your glory; ruthless nations will fear You. But You are a tower of refuge to the poor, O Lord, a tower of refuge to the needy in distress. You are a refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat. For the oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord we have an everlasting rock. For He brings down those who dwell on high, the lofty city; He lays it low; He lays it low, even to the ground; He brings it even to the dust. The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor and the steps of the needy. The way of the righteous is smooth; O Upright One, make the path of the righteous level. In the way of Your judgments, O Lord, we have waited for You eagerly; the desire of our souls is Your name, even Your memory. With my soul I have desired You in the night; my spirit within me seeks You diligently; for when Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. [Isaiah 25:1-4, NLT; Isaiah 26:3-9]
Holy Spirit, I am a man who has learned much knowledge in my life; I have searched and meditated on Your word often. I have sought wisdom and discernment so that I can live understanding and strive towards righteousness. I have faced trials and tribulations, and I have enjoyed joy and love in my life. I am at a crossroads in life, and I am seeking where to take my next steps as I travel this earth waiting to go home. Help me to find compassion and passion in my life once more. Help me to at least love through the love of Christ, for I do not feel love towards people right now. Help me to pray with conviction and faith that You still hear and respond to what I petition, even if it is not the response I seek. For I know Your thoughts are above my thoughts and You see the whole picture while I am limited to what I see with my own eyes. Let Your kingdom come and reign. Help me to finish my race and serve You and not my own desires. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Amen. [Numbers 6:24-26]
