Living in the Spirit and letting the flesh die

Heavenly Father I praise You for the truth of Your word. I praise You for being a God, who created us, and then inspires us to be involved in building Your kingdom here on the earth. I praise You for putting Your Holy Spirit into the people who wrote what we now know as the Bible. And for every generation of scholars and scribes who write it accurately into translations for all the languages of that generation. I know Your word to be true and my faith stands strong on what is written, why it was written, and how it is manna for my soul and mind.

Holy Spirit You inspired Paul to write: “Now the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace. The mindset of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit to God’s law. Indeed, it is unable to do so. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him. Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through His Spirit who lives in you.” [Romans 8:6-11, CSB]

Holy Spirit, I come humbly into the throne room through You to Jesus my advocate and request that my heart, mind, and body be changed so that I am fully submersed in serving, meditating, praying, and doing Your will. Help me not just hear, but have the courage to do what is asked of me. Help me to say, help, serve, and live my life so that I only reflect Your Spirit at all times to a dark world. Help my life fulfill the purpose that You created me for so that all glory, honor, and acceptance is directed to You. Let my actions be honorable and strait. Let me wear my spiritual armor correctly so that I can battle the enemy and sin each day with all that You equipped me with. Give me wisdom, understanding, and discernment to serve to the highest level I can.

Holy Spirit help me to be a living sacrifice, bear my cross, sleigh my giants and use my faith to move mountains in my way. Let the words I say, the thoughts that I focus on, the things I read, listen toliving and watch all be glorifying to You, and help me to renew my mind with Your word daily so that I can claim, promote, and breath out Your Spirit to others who are desperate for the hope of Your Salvation.

The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11
