Light Takes the Darkness Away

I thank my God always concerning the grace of God which was given to me by Christ Jesus, that I am enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in me, so that I come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm me to the end, that I may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom I am called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. [1 Corinthians 1:4-9]

I once was in darkness, but now I am light in the Lord. I will walk as a child of light. [Ephesians 5:8] As a child growing up in a very rural area of Michigan I learned just how dark the night can be. I also learned that the heavens are filled with many tiny lights from stars and then of course you have the moon reflecting the sun. Not only does it give small pieces of light stars can be used to understand directions and help navigate when you do not have modern equipment to show you where to go. I may be just one small twinkling light in the vast sky of humanity, but with the joining of all my brothers and sisters in Christ, we become a light and a direction pointer to the Savior. Let me shine as brightly as I can as a child of light.

And this is my prayer: that my love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Amen. Philippians 1:9-11
