Letting the Seeds Take Root in My Heart

Heavenly Father I praise You for being the Creator and our Father. I praise You for thinking higher of us than we deserve. I praise You for Your love and for making us in Your image with the full gamut of emotions. Heavenly Father I praise You for establishing the fruits of the spirit in our lives.

Holy Spirit, Paul teaches us in his letter to the Galatians, and inspired by You, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and self-control; against such there is no law.” And these are the Spiritual antithesis of “Now the works of the flesh are revealed, which are these: adultery, sexual immorality, impurity, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, rage, selfishness, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, carousing, and the like.” [Galatians 5:19-23]

Holy Spirit help me to learn true joy and make it the energy that pushes me through the day, no matter what happens in my day. Let me enjoy peace and demonstrate patience, gentleness, meekness and self-control. Push me to grow in goodness and faith. Holy Spirit let the seeds of these fruits take root and grow in my life so that I don’t allow the works of the flesh to consume and destroy me. Let me walk forward in the Spirit with a growing wisdom, discernment and faith so that I can be used for what I was created for. Let me grow the talents and abilities You made me with so that they can build the kingdom.

Help me to be an encourager to others in wisdom, discernment and in prayer. Let me be honest about the fact that without You I am nothing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
