Letting Jesus be My Light

Heavenly Father I praise You for helping me to still make it to work even when the weather is bad. I praise You for all time I get to spend with family. I praise You for the good food that my wife prepared last night. I thank you for my son, Joe who got back from taking teens to camp over the weekend and made it home so we could see him on his birthday.

Holy Spirit, Jesus told the people, “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 As I walk this world and grow in Your wisdom and understanding, continue to light the way that I should go. Help me to be reflective of that light so people only see Jesus and His salvation, not my failures and imperfections. Let me live a light so full of the light of Jesus that I will be shining to the world around me, giving them hope because of You living in me.

For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!
