Learning to Love and Live in the Spirit

Heavenly Father I praise You today for the morning and that You allow us to command it by our attitude.  I praise You for being a creation that You love and want fellowship with.  Help me to honor the Psalm of David today; help me to ascribe glory due to Your name, to worship You in the splendor of Your holiness.  Let me hear Your voice over the waters, in the glory of thunder, and in the thunder over mighty waters.  Listen, for Your voice is powerful, and majestic, breaks the cedars especially the cedars of Lebanon.  You make Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox.  Your voice strikes with flashes of lightning, shakes the desert, especially the Desert of Kadesh.  You are enthroned as King forever and You give strength to Your people and You bless them with peace. (Psa.29)

Holy Spirit I praise You for hearing our voice and answering some of the prayers over Eileen and Kara as both of their doctor visits were successful.  I praise You for Your word is true and You hear us when we pray and when we unite in prayer You are in our midst.

Holy Spirit teach me to demonstrate a love that never fails, that is patient, kind and does not envy.  Help me not to boast and not to allow pride into my life.  Help me not to dishonor others, and be self-seeking or easily angered.  Help me to learn how to forget the wrongs done to me and to forgive fully so that I stay within Your will and in Your love and forgiveness.  Let me never delight in evil, but to always rejoice in truth.  Teach me to a love protects, trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. (1Cor. 13:4-8)

Holy Spirit  help us to expect a time that is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.  God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24)  Holy Spirit teach us that it is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that Jesus’s speaks to us are Spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63) Help us to embrace Christ’s words when he said, a new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. (John 13:34&35) And when he said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. (John 14:12-14)  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
