I May Mess Up, But I am not Defeated

Heavenly Father I praise You for the salvation that allows me a relationship with You. I praise You for the forgiveness afforded me for my sins, the grace for my mistakes, and the mercy for my failures. I praise You for helping me learn early in life when I was an athlete playing in games, I may make mistakes during the game but that does not mean I can’t correct them, and then still succeed.

Holy Spirit I have made plenty of bad decisions, blunders, and mistakes in my life, yet You still love me, desire to have a relationship with me and You forgive me when I ask for it when I sin. I know not all blunders and mistakes are sins but that doesn't make them less painful to our relationship. Help me to continue to pray: Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain! He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. Therefore, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me. [1 Chronicles 4:9&10; Micah 6:8; Micah 7:7] Let me never shy from seeking You and humbly approach and either ask for forgiveness or seek to make sure our relationship is open and that I can listen to You.

The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that God may be praised through Jesus Christ in all things. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:7-11
