Holy Spirit Within Me

You, God, are my God, forever and ever; You will be my guide even to the end. For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. [Psalm 48:14, NIV; Isaiah 11:9] I praise You for being a God that allows us free will and choice and to grow and live, yet You walk with us every step that we take through this life.

Holy Spirit as Christ was preparing for the cross, He told the disciples this: I have spoken these things to you while I am still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you. Peace I leave with you. My peace, I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. [John 14:25-27, MEV] I understand that this was recorded also for my benefit to know that You, the Holy Spirit, are my counselor and teacher. Through You, I gain wisdom and discernment. You open my eyes to understanding and when I listen You help me to walk in righteousness. Help me to trust beyond any doubt that You are not only with me but working through me.

Holy Spirit help me to learn to house Your Spirit as a living temple and to be obedient to all that You instruct me in. Let me live my life as a living sacrifice so that I can understand the will of the Father and constantly renew my mind so that my thoughts, desires, and focus are completely on what is right and holy. Help me to demonstrate my knowledge of the word by living out the principles and instructions of Christ. Help me to do as James instructed us to not only be a hearer of the word but a doer. Let me display all the fruits of the Spirit in how I live and developed into who I am. Let me face each trial, test, storm and just ordinary life with the knowledge of Your presence, the understanding of how to respond, the wisdom of what I should do, and the discernment of Your will in my life every minute I breathe air on this earth.

Without question, great is the mystery of godliness: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, and taken up into glory. The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon their faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. If you point these things out to the brothers [and sisters], you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. Physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe. For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and sound mind. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Amen. [1 Timothy 3:16; 1 Timothy 4:1-11; 2 Timothy 1:7; 2 Timothy 2:15&16]
